A water bar is a raised strip that sits on the floor at the shower opening. It creates a low barrier that prevents water from flowing out of the shower area and onto the bathroom floor. The half-round profile has a smooth, curved cross-section that is comfortable to step over and easy to keep clean.
Where Water Bars Are Needed
Walk-in showers with fixed panels have no door to contain water at the entry point. Without a water bar, water will follow the floor gradient and flow out of the shower opening. The water bar acts as a threshold that holds water inside the shower area, directing it toward the floor waste.
Half-Round Profile
The half-round shape rises gently from the floor, creating a barrier without a sharp step that could be a trip hazard. The smooth curve sheds water easily and does not create a ledge where soap scum or mould can accumulate.

Installation
The water bar is fixed to the floor surface at the shower threshold. It must be sealed along both edges to prevent water seeping underneath. Install during the tiling stage or after tiles are laid, depending on the specific product instructions. 700mm length suits standard shower door openings.
