How Wall-to-Glass Hinges Work
Each hinge consists of two plates: one fixed to the wall and one clamped to the glass. The internal spring mechanism provides controlled closing action, so the door settles back to its closed position without slamming. Most frameless shower doors require two wall-to-glass hinges, though taller or heavier panels may need three.
When to Use This Hinge
Use wall-to-glass hinges when your shower door opens from a wall rather than from another glass panel. This is the most common configuration for alcove showers and single-door walk-in enclosures. If your door opens from a fixed glass return panel instead, you will need a glass-to-glass hinge (see the Abode 180-degree or 135-degree options).
