The Matte Black tiled waste insert adds a defined, dark-framed accent to your shower floor. Where lighter finishes aim to blend in, the black frame draws a deliberate line around the drain that mirrors the Matt Black hardware above, tying the floor and wall hardware together visually.
Design Impact
On a light-coloured floor tile, the black frame becomes a graphic element, similar to the effect of dark grout lines on white subway tiles. On darker floors, it disappears into the surface. Either way, it coordinates with Matt Black channels, hinges, and handles to create a fully unified hardware scheme from floor to ceiling.
Care for Matte Black Finishes
As with all matte black bathroom hardware, the frame benefits from regular wiping to prevent mineral build-up from shower water. Avoid abrasive pads or harsh chemical cleaners that could dull the matte coating. A soft microfibre cloth with mild cleaner is ideal.
Tile Insert Function
A cut piece of your floor tile sits inside the recessed tray, bringing the tile surface almost flush with the surrounding floor. Water drains through the narrow gap around the tile edge. The frame lifts out for access to the drain below.
Installation
Set during the tiling stage. Compatible with standard NZ 120x120mm plumbing rough-in. Professional installation required with proper waterproofing.
