Untreated shower glass attracts water droplets, soap residue, and mineral deposits that build up over time into a hazy film. Glass treatment applies a hydrophobic (water-repelling) coating to the glass surface that causes water to bead up and roll off rather than clinging and drying in place.
How It Works
The treatment bonds to the glass surface at a microscopic level, creating an invisible barrier that reduces the surface tension between the glass and water. Water droplets form tight beads and slide down the glass, taking soap residue and minerals with them. The result is glass that stays clearer for longer between cleans.
When to Apply
The ideal time to apply glass treatment is when the glass is brand new, before it is installed or immediately after. New glass has a clean, uncontaminated surface that the treatment bonds to most effectively. It can also be applied to existing shower glass, but the glass must be thoroughly cleaned and dried first to remove any existing deposits.
Maintenance Benefits
Treated glass is not self-cleaning. You still need to wipe it down regularly. But the cleaning is quicker and easier because deposits do not adhere as aggressively. A quick squeegee after each shower and a periodic wipe with a mild cleaner is typically sufficient to maintain treated glass.
Application
