Pivot blocks are the small plastic or nylon components at the top and bottom of a framed pivot shower door that act as the hinge point. The door sits on the bottom pivot and is held by the top pivot, allowing it to swing open and closed. Over years of daily use, these blocks wear down, crack, or deform, causing the door to sag, bind, or fail to close properly.
Signs You Need New Pivot Blocks
If your framed shower door drags on the tray when opening, does not close squarely, or has developed a visible lean, the pivot blocks are the first components to check. They are the most common wear point on framed pivot doors and the least expensive part to replace. In many cases, new pivot blocks restore the door to smooth, square operation without any other repairs.
Set of Two
Supplied as a pair: one top pivot and one bottom pivot. Both should be replaced at the same time, even if only one appears worn, to ensure even support and alignment.
Colour Options
Available in White and Grey to match common framed shower frame colours. The pivot blocks sit inside the frame track and are largely hidden from view, but selecting the correct colour ensures they blend in if any part is visible.
Fitting
The old pivot blocks can usually be removed and replaced without dismantling the entire door frame. Instructions vary by frame manufacturer. If unsure, a shower installer can swap them quickly.
