The Chair seal is another multi-position profile in the Shower Solutions range, but with a wider fin than the Throne. This broader fin extends further from the glass edge, which means it can cover wider gaps between the door and the wall or adjacent panel.
Chair vs Throne: Which Profile?
Both the Chair and the Throne are versatile seals that work in multiple positions. The key difference is fin width. If the gap between your door and wall is relatively narrow (under 5mm or so), the Throne provides a neater, tighter seal. If the gap is wider, or if you need the seal to compress more to maintain contact, the Chair’s broader fin gives you more material to work with.
Two Length Options
Available in 2 metre lengths (for full-height side seals) and 700mm lengths (for door bottom seals on standard width doors). Having both options means you can order the right length for each position without excessive waste from cutting.
Replacement and Identification
Shower seals should be inspected annually and replaced when they show signs of hardening, cracking, or permanent compression. If you are unsure which profile your shower currently uses, remove a small section and compare it with the profile images on the Shower Solutions website, or bring it to the East Tamaki showroom.
