This framed alcove shower uses a hinged pivot door that swings outward, providing the widest possible entry opening. Where sliding doors give you a partial-width opening, the hinged door opens the full width of the doorway.

Hinged vs Sliding
Hinged doors provide a wider opening and simpler mechanism than sliding doors. The trade-off is that the door needs swing clearance in front of the shower. If your bathroom layout allows the door to swing without hitting a vanity or wall, hinged is generally the better choice for ease of access.
Framed Construction
The aluminium frame supports the glass and provides a finished edge around the door and any fixed panels. The pivot mechanism is built into the frame at top and bottom.
