Vanity Cabinets

This is our largest range, and it is where most bathroom projects start. The cabinet determines the storage, the proportions and much of the character of the room, and it is the piece everything else gets specified around.

Cabinets are built in our own New Zealand factory rather than imported, which means standard widths are a starting point rather than a limit. Sizes run from compact units suited to a powder room or an ensuite through to double basin cabinets for a main family bathroom. If none of the standard widths suit your alcove, we build to your dimension. In older New Zealand houses that is frequently the difference between a vanity that fits and one that needs packing out with filler panels.

Wall hung versus floor standing is the first decision. Wall hung mounts off the wall with the floor continuing underneath, which visually enlarges a small bathroom and removes the dirt trap around the base. It needs solid fixing into framing, so confirm your wall construction before committing. Floor standing sits on its own plinth, is simpler to install into any wall type, and gives marginally more internal volume for the same face width.

Then consider the internals. Drawers are more useful than doors in a bathroom because everything stored there is small and gets lost at the back of a cupboard. Soft close runners as standard. Think about where your waste and water connections land, as they will eat into drawer space unless the cabinet is designed around them.
