Every vanity we supply is built in our own New Zealand factory, which changes what is possible. We are not selecting from a catalogue of imported standard widths and hoping one fits your alcove. If your bathroom needs an 812mm vanity because that is what the space allows, we make an 812mm vanity.

That matters more than it sounds, because bathrooms are where standard dimensions most often fail. Villas, bungalows and any house that has been renovated more than once tend to have openings that fall between the sizes everyone else stocks. The usual outcome is a vanity that leaves an awkward gap filled with a scribed panel, or one that is too small for the space and looks lost in it.

The main decision is wall hung versus floor standing. Wall hung leaves the floor visible underneath, which makes a small bathroom read as larger and removes the strip of floor around the base that is impossible to clean properly. It needs adequate fixing into framing, so it is easier to specify before the wall is lined. Floor standing is the simpler installation and gives you slightly more storage for the same footprint.

Then choose your basin, because the vanity top is machined to suit the specific bowl. Countertop basins sit proud and make a feature of themselves. Under mount gives a flush surface that wipes down in one pass. Drop-in sits between the two.
