Standard Mirrors

A plain mirror is often the right answer. If your bathroom already has decent light at face height, from a window or wall lights beside the vanity, an LED mirror adds cost and a wiring requirement for a benefit you may not need.

What does matter is build quality, because bathroom mirrors fail in a specific and predictable way. Moisture reaches the silvering behind the glass at the edges and reacts with it, producing black spotting that creeps inward. Once it starts it cannot be stopped. Every mirror we supply uses a moisture resistant backing specified for wet area use, which is the difference between a mirror that still looks new in ten years and one that needs replacing in three.

Frameless polished edge mirrors suit contemporary bathrooms and are the easiest to clean, with no frame for water and dust to collect behind. Framed mirrors give more definition and work well where the bathroom has other detailing to relate to.

Size is worth thinking about properly. As a general guide, a vanity mirror should be no wider than the vanity itself, and hung so the centre sits at roughly eye height for the people using it. A mirror hung too high is a common and easily avoided mistake.
