Frameless Showers

A frameless shower is made from heavy toughened glass held by minimal hardware, with no perimeter frame at all. The result is a bathroom that reads as one continuous space rather than one divided by an aluminium box, which is why frameless has become the default specification in new builds and high end renovations.

The practical benefits go beyond appearance. With no frame, there are far fewer edges and channels for soap scum and mould to collect in, so a frameless shower is genuinely easier to keep clean. Every enclosure we supply is finished with a protective coating that reduces how readily minerals bond to the glass surface, which is what causes the permanent cloudiness you see on older showers.

The trade-off is precision. The glass carries its own load through the hinges and channels, so panels must be manufactured to the actual dimensions of your opening and the substrate must be capable of taking the fixings. This is why every frameless enclosure we supply is made to measure in New Zealand rather than pulled off a shelf, and why we recommend professional installation. A frameless panel cannot be trimmed or re-drilled once it has been toughened.

Configurations include single door, door with return panel, double door, and fixed panel walk-ins. Glass is available in 8mm and 10mm, with 10mm the usual specification for doors and larger panels.
