Framed Shower Handles & Hardware

Handles and their fixings take a surprising amount of load over the life of a shower. The handle is what people pull the door closed with, and on a sliding door that means every use puts a lateral force through two small fixing points. Over years, the fixings work loose, the thread strips, or the handle itself fractures at the weakest section.

Replacement is straightforward, but fit is not universal. Before ordering, measure the distance between the centres of the two fixing holes on your existing handle. That measurement determines what will fit and it varies between systems. Check the glass thickness at the same time, since the fixing bolt length has to suit.

If the handle has come loose rather than broken, look at the fixings before replacing the whole thing. Many handles use a nylon washer or bush behind the glass that compresses over time, and replacing that alone can restore a solid fixing.
