Towel Rails

A non-heated towel rail is the straightforward option, and it is the right one more often than people assume. If your bathroom has good ventilation, or there is no power point where the rail needs to go, or you are working to a budget and would rather spend it on the vanity, a plain rail does the job.

The range covers single bars, double bars and rings. Single bars suit an ensuite or a bathroom used by one person. Double bars give twice the hanging space for the same wall width, which is worth having in a shared bathroom because towels that overlap on a single bar stay damp. Rings work well beside a basin for a hand towel, where a full length rail would be oversized.

Fixing is the thing to get right. A towel rail takes real load, particularly when someone leans on it or a child hangs off it, and plasterboard alone will not hold. Find framing where you can, or use an anchor properly rated for the load. If the bathroom is still being built, put noggins in where the rails will go.

Everything is specified for wet area use with concealed fixings, so there is no visible screw head.
