Shower Shelves

Somewhere to put the shampoo is one of those details that gets left to the end of a bathroom project and then quietly annoys people for years. Bottles on the floor are a trip hazard and make cleaning the shower base far more work than it needs to be.

Corner shelves are the most efficient use of space in a standard enclosure, sitting in an area that is otherwise dead. Wall mounted shelves suit a walk-in or a larger shower where a corner unit would be out of reach from where you actually stand. Both need to be positioned where they will not catch an elbow, which usually means higher than people first assume.

If you are fitting a glass shelf into a frameless enclosure, you will also need shelf clips, which we stock in matching finishes. The clips fix to the glass panel or the wall and support the shelf without a visible bracket underneath.

Everything in this range is specified for permanent wet area use. Cheaper shelving corrodes from the fixings outward, which shows up as rust staining running down the tile below it, and that staining is often permanent.

Fixing matters. A shelf that will hold several full bottles needs a proper anchor, and screwing into tile alone is rarely adequate. If you are still at the planning stage, get a noggin into the framing where the shelf will go.
