Bath Screens

A bath screen lets you run a shower over an existing bath without water ending up on the floor, which makes it the standard solution in bathrooms where there is no room for a separate shower. In a family home it is often the more sensible fit-out regardless, since a bath and a shower in one footprint covers more needs than either alone.

There are two main types. A fixed panel is a single sheet of toughened glass mounted at the tap end of the bath, and it is the simplest and most reliable option: nothing to move, nothing to wear, nothing to leak. A hinged screen pivots so it can be folded back against the wall, which gives easier access for bathing children or cleaning the bath, at the cost of a moving joint that will need maintaining eventually.

Height and width both matter more than people expect. A screen that is too short lets spray over the top when the shower is on a rail at full height. A screen that is too long makes getting in and out of the bath awkward. As a rough guide, allow enough panel to cover the shower rose position and no more.

All our screens use toughened safety glass made to New Zealand standards, in a range of frame finishes to match your tapware and other bathroom hardware. Custom sizes are available where your bath sits in a non-standard alcove, which is common in older houses.

If you are replacing a screen on an existing bath, measure the bath rim width and the available wall height before ordering, and check whether your current fixing is into tile, lining or framing.
